Dianne H. Szwed

Owner / Licensed Optician

Dianne's career as a Licensed Optician brings 35 years of experience to the vision care industry on Long Island. Raised in Port Washington, New York she is daughter of Polish immigrants and has successfully built her business from the ground up based on the hardworking principles of her parents. After attending St. Mary's High School in Manhasset, Dianne attended Adelphi University graduated with a B.S. in Biology-Pre Med, followed by NYC College of Technology in Brooklyn for her A.A.S in Ophthalmic Dispensing. Hard work, high standards, wonderful coworkers and an eye for detail enable Optical Heights to grow. Dianne prides herself in giving back to the Roslyn community and neighboring communities ever since opening in 1996. She has been active in many local charities over the years, serving as a committee member, donor or volunteer at various events, including her Alma Mater, the American Heart Association, OneSight, Go With Courage, Manhasset Women's Breast Coalition, Roslyn High School and many others. When not focusing on eye care, her husband Peter, shares Dianne's zest for life, sports enthusiasts, animal lovers and passionate environmentalists. Her relationships in business, her coworkers, family and friends remain a key to her success. Dianne looks forward everyday to providing her patients and retail customers with the utmost care and quality.

Joseph A. Dell'Aira

Licensed Optician

Joseph Dell'Aira was raised in Brooklyn, New York where he attended Xaverian High School and graduated from New York City College of Technology with an A.A.S in Ophthalmic Dispensing. He became a licensed optician in 1982 and later became certified by the National Society of Contact Lens Examiners. He is highly skilled in his profession and has a passion for helping clients make the right choices when selecting eyewear. He joined the staff at Optical Heights in 2002. Joseph enjoys his free time with his family, playing guitar and producing music.

Dr. Linda M Gulotta

Doctor of Optometry

Dr. Linda M. Gulotta, OD received her undergraduate degree from St. John's University and graduated with honors and a scholastic Excellence Scholarship receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She received her doctorate degree from the The New England College of Optometry located in Boston, Massachusetts. Her clinical experience includes the Brooke Army Medical Center/Optometry Division, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, the Newport Naval Hospital/Optometry Clinic, Newport Rhode Island, the New England College of Optometry Contact Lens Clinic, and the Boston Eye Clinic, both located in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Gulotta has also completed an internship program in visual training at SUNY College of Optometry, New York. She has published in the Optometry Times Magazine. Dr. Gulotta is licensed in both diagnostic and therapeutics. She has been involved in many practice modalities, including Ophthalmological, group practice, corporate, retail and private practice settings. Dr. Gulotta has enjoyed practicing at Optical Height for over 20 years, a patient oriented practice with a focus on patient satisfaction. She performs all phases of primary care optometry with an emphasis on contact lenses, refractions and is proud to be a member of the competent professional and welcoming staff at Optical Heights.

Angela Kropp

Licensed Optician

Angela is a NYS Licensed Optician with over 25 years of experience and is certified by the American Board of Opticianry. Having worn glasses from the age of 11 and contact lenses from the age of 13, Angela has a personal interest in the workings of the eyes. She earned an A.A.S. Degree with Distinction in Ophthalmic Dispensing from Suffolk Community College in 1996. After working as an optician for 24 years in a large national retail chain, Angela joined Optical Heights in 2020. She enjoys working with people and assisting them in finding the look they love with the best lenses for their individual needs.

Douglas Ramirez

Douglas Ramirez was born and raised in Valparaiso, Chile and comes from a long line of opticians. Having grown up around the optical trade and optical instruments in relative's homes from a young age, Douglas joined his family's business at age 15. After high school, he completed a two year ophthalmic apprenticeship then proceeded to a two year trade school, working for two years in international import/export before returning to optical.

in 1981, while vacationing in New York and filling in at Cohen's Optical, Douglas and his wife decided to make their life in the U.S. He worked as an Ophthalmic Technician in various businesses in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Queens for 24 years before joining Optical Heights in 2005.

Douglas is passionate about his job and very knowledgable about all aspects of lenses and the creation of new eyewear, as well as embracing challenges and making skillful frame repairs. He is exacting in all he does and takes great pride in his work. After more than 40 years, Douglas still enjoys coming to work every day.
